Hi, I’m Debi Makgae—hairstylist, makeup artist, and founder of Giving Glam.

My love for beauty started in the small, everyday moments—braiding my sister’s hair before school, helping my mom get ready for family gatherings, and styling friends for special occasions. I didn’t realize it then, but those early moments were shaping what would become a lifelong passion.

It’s been a journey—and yes, my baby sister is still my first and most honest client. Over the years, I’ve found my rhythm. I’ve had the joy of working with incredible people, styling everything from matric dances to weddings, and growing in both skill and purpose.

I’ve seen how the right look—a soft glam, a perfectly styled braid, a glowing finish can make someone feel confident, seen, and completely themselves.

That’s what Giving Glam is all about. The name came from something I’d always say when a look came together just right: “It’s giving.” Not just giving glam, but giving joy, confidence, and the kind of energy that makes you feel unstoppable.

Today, I work from a studio I helped bring to life—a space that’s warm, welcoming, and created with care. Whether it’s your wedding day, a photoshoot, or a moment that matters to you, I’m here to help you feel your best—comfortable, radiant, and truly you.
